Match Report: Valencia CF draw at Butarque (1-1)
Valencia CF visited CD Leganés at Butarque on matchday 25 of LaLiga Santander at 12 pm kick-off time. Valencia CF had a slow start to the game with CD Leganés enjoying much of the ball and Valencia CF defending in the first minutes of the match.
José Luis Gayà had the first chance for Valencia CF with a powerful left-footed shot off the bar. Geoffrey Kondogbia made it 0-1 for Valencia CF heading a Carlos Soler free-kick, getting above Bustinza and beating Pichu Cuéllar.
Moments later, Neto Murara was called into action to punch out an En-Nesyri header in the 25th minute of the match Valencia CF had more of the ball. Rodrigo Moreno had his shot just wide after a good counter. The first half between CD Leganés and Valencia CF finished 0-1.
The second half started much like the first one with CD Leganés in control and trying to make it 1-1 in the first minutes of the second half. Rodrigo Moreno had the first chance of the second half after a great Piccini play, but his shot went just off target.
Jose Luis Gayà had to be replaced for Mouctar Diakhaby with an injury in the 77th minute in a match with no chances. Rubén Sobrino came close to making it 0-2 but he mishit it and minutes later, Martin Braithwaite made it 1-1 as Neto Murara kept it 1-1 in injury time. The game finished 1-1 between Valencia CF and CD Leganés.
Valencia CF will play Copa del Rey semi-finals second leg on the final day of the month at Mestalla at 9 pm kick-off time.
